UV LED技术越来越接近我们的日常生活,可用于减少细菌,改善卫生状况。随着技术的进步,UV LED的应用形式越来越丰富。例如,今年以来,市场上出现了多款搭载UV LED提供自动消毒的水杯。与此同时,还出现了无人机搭载UV LED的应用。

近期,UV LED技术又多了一个应用形式,有研究者将UV LED集成在公共门把手上,提供自动清洁和消毒。

据报道,香港中文大学的两位研究生设计了自动清洁门把手,并且被评选进2019詹姆斯戴森奖(James Dyson Award)的前二十名。

报道称,这两位研究生受2003年非典型肺炎 (SARS)爆发的启发,当时病毒是通过接触传播。他们设计这种自动清洁门把手旨在阻止传染性疾病的传播,改善公共卫生。

该研究小组采用一种由UV LED激活的薄光催化涂层来分解基板表面上的细菌。由于需要一致的UV光源,所以他们添加了一个发电机,提供稳定的电流以点亮UV LED灯,而这个过程可以通过开关门来实现。透明玻璃门把手里会发生光反射以激活外表面上的涂层,如此一来,门把手就可自行消毒和清洁。

这两位研究者表示,他们旨在将这个产品的商业化,希望这款门把手能够应用到商场、酒店、亿元及公共浴室等感染风险较高的公共场所。

According to reports, two graduate students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong have designed self-cleaning doorknobs and have been selected as the top 20 at the James Dyson award in 2019.

The two students were inspired by the outbreak of SARS in 2003, when the virus spread through contact, the report said. They designed the self-cleaning door handle to stop the spread of infectious diseases and improve public health.

The team used a thin photocatalytic coating activated by UV LEDs to break down bacteria on the surface of the substrate. Because of the need for a consistent UV light source, they added a generator to provide a stable current to light the UV LED, which can be achieved by opening and closing the door. The transparent glass doorknob will reflect light to activate the coating on the outer surface, so that the doorknob can be disinfected and cleaned by itself.

The two researchers said they aimed to commercialize the product and hoped that the door handle could be used in shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, public bathrooms and other public places with high risk of infection.
